Cat-eye nails take their name from the band of light that runs across each nail and shifts as your hands move. The effect comes from magnetic shimmer in the finish, which gives the colour a depth a flat polish cannot.

The shimmer sits under the surface, so it changes with the light: bright and sharp in daylight, softer and deeper in the evening. It reads well on every shape, from a soft almond to a sharp coffin, and darker colours show the band most clearly.
A cat-eye set arrives with the shimmer already set. Keep it at its best by removing it gently, loosening the adhesive rather than prying, and storing the tips away from heat and moisture between wears.
